Hi,
We had a power failure the other day (dont ask...!) and as a result it looks as though our filer was brought back up before the tape library was started. One of the drives in the library is directly connected to the filer however it is not showing as being available, when I run a sysconfig -t no tape drive is shown. How can I get the filer to see the tape drive without rebooting it again??
Thanks
I have resolved this issue, i just disabled the adapter and reenabled it using:
storage disable adapter (adapter no) storage enable adapter (adapter no)

Is it FC or SCSI? (probably SCSI, since FCAL shows up when it is ready)
go to "priv set diag"
storage disable -f adapter Xy
(where X is the slot number and y is the channel, if applicable, like 8a)
Wait a few seconds (like 10) and then:
storage enable adapter Xy
See if it comes back....

for FC that doesnt show up automatically, you can do offline/online to rescan the adapters:
fcadmin offline <adapter> fcadmin online <adapter>

Shouldn't there be a sequence when turning on attached devices?
