Credit to our SE's for pointing this one out to us when they installed our F630's.
I can see why this would drive you up the wall trying to diagnose a fail-to-boot when no-one's pointed out the change.

I can understand why you might want to have the case open, but at least the filer is easy to work with (slide open/close).
The new Sun e450's are a different matter... I recently had one in which I had to shuffle memory around several times (trying to find the bad simm; the diags would not even run). I had to put on and take off those darn skins way too many times (since it will not run without them).
There should be a manual over-ride for this.
