We currently have a quad etherchannel/trunking set up working with a Cisco switch, and from Todd's post, you all know that it worked very well. Does anyone have any experience using etherchannel/trunking with any other vendors/products? Any info would be useful..

We've just been doing some fairly basic testing for a demo with a Foundry Networks NetIron NSR16 with no problems.....next step to use the cluster failover (but that's on hold for a couple of days whilst we sort out some other stuff !!!)
Best regards Mike

This is a vague question. I use trunking on Solaris 2.6 boxes. It seems to work fine. However, I don't have trunking set up yet on NetApps due to lack of ports on a switch. Thus, I have not tried trunking between a Solaris 2.6 box and a NetApp, to answer the second interpretation of your question. I should be able to do the latter by early April, I hope.

Title: Recommended Switches for Fast Etherchannel We have worked with three vendors whose products we have tested with Fast Etherchannel.
1. Cisco: The cisco catalyst 5000 is one of the switches that we have worked with. 2. Extreme Networks: The Extreme Nettworks Summit 4 is also a switch that is tested and approved. 3. Foundry Falstrons: Also tested and approved.
