Hi toasters,
I've got the following output from snapmirror status (no entry in /etc/snapmirror.conf !):
Source Destination State Lag Status FILER:vol11 NEARSTORE:sm_vol11 Broken-off 13:19:28 Idle
Now I take the destination volume offline. Another snapmirror status results in:
Source Destination State Lag Status FILER:vol11 NEARSTORE:sm_vol11 Snapmirrored 13:19:28 Idle
Can anyone explain this "odd" state change ?
BTW. ONTAP version: NetApp Release 7.2.5.1P6
Norbert

Seen that a lot (the move to 'snapmirrored' when vol offlined).
The first part seems to be that someone replicated the data, possibly without a snapmirror.conf entry, or removed it after the fact.
The second part is pretty common when moving stuff around - if you offline a volume before releasing the snapmirror relationship, the filer still thinks that the relationship exists (if I recall, it is in the registry info somewhere - though it may be a simple case of not being able to update some sort of metadata I suppose).
Unfortunately, I don't know the details, but it's not that uncommon and not that much of an issue. Removing any snapmirror.conf relationships or running 'snapmirror release' should do the trick (if you no longer need the relationship).
