With filer only being Netapp you are not wrong now. Netapp will likely be releasing a tool to facilitate this going from FAS/F to R150/100.

However if you want a NAS device that does HSM to tape. You might want to look at the GRAU IVD.

We need to be able to do some kind of archiving of old data to a secondary storage device (ATA array, or something along those lines). It seems like all of the software out there works in a Solaris or Windows environment. I haven't found anything compatible with a Filer. Could anyone prove me wrong?
