Hi list, does anyone know if there’s an official shutdown temp for a 3270 FAS in HA 7-mode? I can see the operating temperature list, and have wandered through the environment settings, and first impression is that it’s a function of inflow temp being too high, and possibly two other subsystem reporting too high, for environmental shutdown to occur, but that’s just guessing :) I’dreally like a link to a doc that says “w3270’s shutdown at 54 degrees celsius” or similar…….
TIA,
`Mark
Only info I could find was operating range via hardware universe.
Operating Temperature Range
50 to 104 deg F 10 to 40 deg C

Hi Mark,
Please take a look here: https://kb.netapp.com/app/answers/answer_view/a_id/1003775/~/what-do-storage...
The warning temp is when an autosupport will be triggered. The critical temp is when the controller shuts down.

Well, I can say from experience that 3220s and 3250s will run at 95+ degrees, at least for a while. It's really upto how much heat the drives and system can handle, and I suspect it's by blowing a ton of air helps cool things down, even if it's hot.
I ran for weeks at a 85+ because one of the AC units was down and couldn't be fixed quickly. Not fun, but the system did fine.
This is really just an observation, can't say that I can point to a specific doc and temp to not go over.
It's also highly dependent on the individual system and it's environment. Some will handle the heat better through natural variation.
