I believe that a UNIX based Networker server can backup an NT based Networker client while preserving the NT metadata. If this is so, you might try "front ending" a filer (via a mapped drive letter) with an NT box running the Networker client service. I have this procedure explained in my backup paper which should hit the external web within a week.
