We use legato networker. We backup up the snapshots. There is also new tool called "Legato NetWorker ClientPak for Network Appliance" Check with legato or write to me to get the legato presentation. good question. i'm in the same boat (two F520's, crashing all the time due too ontap/budtool bad interactions). if you use ndmp for backups, my understanding is that veritas netbackup is the only option.
