Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knew of a solution similar to OSSV for vmware for hyper-v. I know, it's a long shot, but I've got a student asking about it. I couldn't find anything about an ossv solution for it. Anyone know of something on its way?
Thanks! Nick
I'll try to change the form of request... :-)
Has anyone ever experienced a "cannot find ORACLE_HOME for SID 'xxx' in windows registry" during a SMO profile creation? (and the key is in the reg!!)
I've a case open (2000633000) with NetApp support with no solution at all. The official answer anyway is that SMO is not supported on Oracle RAC for Windows but really they've admitted that there's no official statements on SMO docs and on NOW knowledgebase. They say that's no supported for SMO needs Snapdrive -really?!? :-) and on RAC you cannot use Snapdrive...this because they think that it exists only RAC on raw partitions!
But I've RAC with OCFS on NTFS partitions and Snapdrive is installed. SMO Snapdrive environment verification passes...so, why I can't have a solution to this I'm persuaded is a bug?!? I've also tested snapshot functionalities of SD here and it works! You cannot expand those LUNs (they're extended partitions) but snapshotting works! And the only thing a Snapmanager software need from Snapdrive is the snapshot function!!!
Bye,
Last November NetApp was talking about HyperVIBE, which was just a set of scripts like the original VIBE. I haven't heard anything more since then.
