I would doubt there were any big fixes to spares_zero. I haven't checked them, but since it's not in regular command mode, I wouldn't hold my breath.

One way to keep your console while the process is running is to issue the command via rsh from a trusted host. That way you don't chew up your prompt.

Something like:

# rsh filer 'priv set diag ; spares_zero'

Note, use the single quotes so that both commands go to the filer.

This is supposed to all be fixed in an upcoming release and there will be an officially blessed way to do this. Stay tuned.
