I'm running HP-UX 11 and mounting a handful of filesystems ovber NFS v3 from a filer. This is fine. The only fly in the ointment is that when I use tar to backup a small set of files, I get error messages like these:
"optional ACL entries for </foo/bar/baz> not dumped"
I understand that I can avoid these messages with the A switch to tar, but I don't understand what these ACLs are, how tar knows they're there and how they got set. I certainly haven't set any extra ACLs up -- I'm relying purely on the native rwx type permissions here.
Can anyone enlighten me?
