Morning all,
After a considerable number of months running 7.1 without any problems, we finally got hit by a bug.....A problem between snapmirror, NDMP and various wafl scan processes.
http://now.netapp.com/NOW/cgi-bin/bol?Type=Detail&Display=165640
Now the best solution seems to be to upgrade, the question is to which release ?
The choices are Ontap 7.1.2.1 or 7.2.2
Is anyone out there running either already ? Have you come across any major bugs in either already ?
Cheers
Matt

7.2.2 is GD candidate. If I had to choose, I'd choose 7.2.2.
I've installed 7.2.2 on a 3020 cluster, haven't seen any issues so far. It does include some fw-upgrades (so does 7.1.2.1) so the upgrade process does take a while (depending on the #-disks and #-shelves you have)
Do note: The weekly ASUP's have changed in the last ONTAP releases. You might want to check autosupport.notify_threshold and set it to "info" if you appreciate receiving weekly logs by e-mail.

Seconded: this has been slipped in to ONTAP without anyone waving a red flag. There is page about it at
http://now.netapp.com/Knowledgebase/solutionarea.asp?id=kb17502
(thanks to NetApp support for pointing that out to me) which describes the change as occuring between 7.0.4 and 7.0.5, but it also occurs between 7.1.1 and 7.1.2, and no doubt at some point in the 7.2.x series as well (maybe someone can pinpoint that?).
If you leave the autosupport.notify_threshold setting at its default of "error", then the weekly autosupports (and many others) are sent only to "autosupport.support.to" (i.e. autosupport@netapp.com), and are not copied to "autosupport.to".
