Try changing the mandatory_scan option to off. From the command line enter "vscan options mandatory_scan off" .

We have TrendMicro Server Protect for NetApp. It's okay, but I'm worried about the reliablity. Is there a way to have a filer turn of virus scanning if there are no longer any registered Anti-Virus scanners? We had the TrendMicro service fail during a dat update and nobody was able to read or write from the Filer until I got in that morning and realized what was going on.
