We have a bunch of netapp LUNs of the same size mapped to a Windows box and it isn't clear how we can tell which one is which. I'm not a Windows person. The Windows admin sent me the Windows info about one of the disks and I can't see anything that would indicate which LUN it is on the netapp. Nothing appears to correspond to the LUN serial number or the igroup mapping number, etc. Is there a way to read the Windows "disk signature" with a netapp command? Or is there a Windows command to print the LUN serial number? Or what about the igroup mapping number?

If you open Disk Management, and you right click on the Disk number on the right, hit properties, it should show the LUN ID. You also grab the iSCSI initiator or WWN at this time.
Then you can look on your filer to see which lun it is by running lun show -m, which will show the lun, the initiator, and the LUN ID.

To be really specific:
Open a MMC, Computer Management - local computer Storage - Disk Management
Then you right click on the Disk Number on the LEFT.
Let us know how it goes. You shouldn't have to play around with the lun serial number.

Another roption is to install the HUK for ESX and run the sanlun utility. It will query the filer and give you the path of the luns mapped to that server.

Sorry, I mixed this up with another question.
You can install the HUK for Windows and execute the SANLUN utility as well.

Thanks for everyone's responses. We did the above and did not actually get the netapp WWN, but we got a port and target number that we were able to decipher from other LUN information. We have a CF pair each serving half of the LUNs. Fortunately, they were not set up identically and some of the LUNs with the same LUN ID were different sizes, which determined which filer was "target 0" and which was "target 2". We have a third filer on a completely different SAN and LUNs from that filer also come up with "target 0", but the port number is different because the Windows host accesses the other SAN with a different FC port.
Is there any "standard" Windows way (something to do with MPIO?) that maps the port and target numbers to, say, the filer's node WWN?

If you have snapdrive, the info is in there. Snapddrive, again if installed on your windows server, is in MMC manage my computer, snapdrive, disks. Whala
