Good afternoon,
Sorry, I Think that some times I'm being repetitive, but I need Install my jukebox urgently, I paid for support, but it will take two or three weeks yet, so if some one could help me I will stay very glad !!
I'm installing budtool 4.5 here in my department and I'm with some problems to recognize the drivers.
I'm installing budtool in a Solaris 2.5.1 host to be my Budtool host, because my server is a Network Appliance F230 and I connected on it a jukebox robotics Q2.15 with DLT 4000. I will use the NDMP protocol to send the information like said the manual.
I connect my robotics on the Network Appliance with a cable of 68 pins ( because the jukebox is SE 68 pins) to 50 pins ( because in the Network Appliance is 50 pins - SCSI 0 ). Then I active NDMP protocol ( ndmpd on ) im my Media Server. The problem is that I'm installing the budtool to manager the backup and I'm putting this information on the installation :
ROBOT_DEV_HOST paje ( paje is the name of my Network Appliance Server) ROBOT_DEV_NAME sjb ( sjb is the name that I give to my jukebox, I m using solaris in my Budtool host, but in the installation of the software said if I'm using NDMP protocol I have to put the name of the machine where the jukebox is connect and to use the spt to my device name ( I tried but give problem too. Can you help me define the correct name to my drivers ????. Remember that my jukebox has two drive ( A and B) that I want to connect both to the Network Appliance Server, which all my data are stored ) ROBOT_SCSI_ID 6 ( It is the SCSI ID that I set in the front panel of the jukebox robotics, you can see it bellow where I will shown the result of the probe-scsi command !!) ROBOT_SCSI_BUS 0 ( It is the SCSI Bus where my jukebox is connected on my Server) DATA_DEV_NAME0 nrst0a ( It is the name that him suggest to my first drive) DATA_DEV_HOST0 paje ( It is the name of the machine that it is associated) DATA_DEV_NAME1 nrst1a ( It is the name of the second drive) DATA_DEV_HOST1 paje ( machine associated) CLEANING_TAPE_SLOT -1,-2 PASSWORD xxxxxxxx ( It is my hexadecimal password generated from my my system - I put xxxxxx to not say the true password, sorry ). USEBARCODE Y ( I choose use bar-code reader)
Here is the probe-scsi command result :
SCSI Bus 0 Target 3 Unit 0 Removable Tape Quantum DLT4000 CD5A Target 4 Unit 0 Removable Tape Quantum DLT4000 CD5A Target 6 Unit 0 Removable Jukebox Device BHTi Q2 1.50 SCSI Bus 1 SCSI Bus 2
Here is the error that is given in the verify_install command of budtool ( the REMINDER file):
1 Failed to add the sjb device driver to the system. 2 An sjb device may already be loaded, or the file 3 /kernel/drv/sjb.conf may be missing or incorrect. ~ ~
But I see the kernel and into the Kernel directory has the file above :
root@araras[432]<drv>: ls arp* glm* options* ptsl.conf ssd.conf arp.conf hme* options.conf qe* ssd.conf.11239853 atapicd* icmp* pci_pci* qec* st* atapicd.conf icmp.conf pcmcia* rtvc* st.conf be* ip* pcmcia.conf sad* stp4020* bpp* ip.conf pcmem* sad.conf sy* clone* isp* pcram* sd* sy.conf clone.conf iwscn* pcram.conf* sd.conf tcp* cn* iwscn.conf pcser* se* tcp.conf cn.conf le* pem* ses* tl* conskbd* lebuffer* pem.conf ses.conf tl.conf conskbd.conf llc1* pln* sjb uata* consms* llc1.conf pln.conf sjb.conf udp* consms.conf log* profile* soc* udp.conf dad* log.conf pseudo* socal* wc* dad.conf mm* pseudo.conf sp* wc.conf ecpp* mm.conf ptc* sp.conf xbox* esp* openeepr* ptc.conf spcic* fas* openeepr.conf ptsl* ssd* root@araras[433]<drv>:
and into the file sjb.conf has :
1 # Configuration file for PDC's sjb driver. 2 3 name="sjb" class="scsi" 4 target=0 lun=0; 5 6 name="sjb" class="scsi" 7 target=1 lun=0; 8 9 name="sjb" class="scsi" 10 target=2 lun=0; 11 12 name="sjb" class="scsi" 13 target=3 lun=0; 14 15 name="sjb" class="scsi" 16 target=4 lun=0; 17 18 name="sjb" class="scsi" 19 target=5 lun=0; 20 21 name="sjb" class="scsi" 22 target=6 lun=0; ~ ~
Could you help me resolve this problem of the jukebox and budtool installation. What is the name of the drivers that I have to use ????. How to resolve this problems bellow ????. Remember that my host is running Solaris 2.5.1 and My Server is a Network Appliance F230 and I have to use the NDMP protocol to control it. My jukebox Q2.15 DLT 400 has two drivers !!.
Please, help me !!!
Thank you very much !
