But not to the virus writers, but the people that ignorantly open them. I think that Microsoft at al. should be held accountable for the ease with which the worm takes advantage of those systems.

I can't resist this opportunity to take a jab at Microsoft by noting that I think the people who ignorantly use Microsoft mail clients that allow them to be taken advantage of are partly accountable too. :)
