As opposed to the appliance?
Was thinking about trying it. (Of course, if a LInux version was available, that would be even cooler. :)).
I had a C630 in, but wasn't impressed enough to buy it. My squid stuff works OK, but just checking around.

I was.
But there hasn't been any updates forever, so i stopped.
Squid is doing what I need.

use Squid.
Free, multithreaded (if you have a decent OS), fast.
Just a quick answer about NetCache software. We have several hundred copies of NetCache software in use by customers.
In the next few weeks, we're about to release our latest version of NetCache software. This software is currently in beta-test. This release will bring the software up-to-date with the softare that runs on the appliance.
As to performance; the software is pretty good. Benchmarks that HP performed show that NetCache-HPUX runs about 8X faster than Squid on FreeBsd.

I look forward to seeing it released.
