Has any one tried to mount on the simualtor? I installed 7.1 on Suse 8.0, not connected to network.

I've run up various simulators on various flavours of RedHat or Fedora Core and have been able in every instance to use multiple client machines running different operating systems to mount NFS export or CIFS shares without a problem.
As long as you're able to get the simulator an IP address on your local LAN (when I say "local" I mean "the same net as the host machine") you'll definitely be OK; whether or not you can use VLANs I can't answer (never had a need to).
