http://www.netapp.com/ftp/f700_series_specs.pdf
indicates the F740 head unit consumes max 4 amps @ 90 VAC. (So I'd guess thats 3 A @ 120 VAC).
If ou are using FC7 shelves (old, 9GB drive shelf), it draws 3 A @ 110 VAC. An FC8 shelf (18 GB drive shelf) draws 4 A @ 110 VAC.
To find out the draw for the FC9 shelf, you have to go to http://www.netapp.com/ftp/f800_specs.pdf
which indicates an FC9 shelf draws 5.5 A @ 110 VAC.
Since NetApp doesn't update these data sheets for new shelves (hint hint, the FC9 shelf should be on the F740 data sheet, and the new DS14 shelf should be on both data sheets), I have no idea what the new 14 drive shelf draws.
You can always call them, 1-888-4-NETAPP.
At a colo you'd want to make sure you they provide two independent circuits on separate UPS units to power your filer, so that if a circuit breaker trips or a UPS dies, the filer stays up.

Does anyone know where I can get information on the number of Amps drawn by a 740 and 2 shelves? I'm trying to determine how much power needs to be available for my colo install.
Thanks, Jordan
