No, this is a completely different principle. It's called negligence. If you engage yourself in a dangerous activity, such as driving a car, you are liable for damages you cause intentional or not. The same should apply to opening attachments. Is there a significant difference between the two activities I am not aware of?

I don't remember having someone set up detours, so unsuspecting motorists will drive off a cliffs. Or tamper with traffic lights to cause collisions. Just for giggles.
