Thanks all for the help. I can now run NDMPcopy successfully. The only diference i see is the directory size. For test I copied a directory from a filer to another using NDMPcopy. The following are the source and destination statatics after the successfull copy operation.
Source Destination Size 595 MB 774 MB No of Files 5231 5232 No of folders 363 363
Can anybody tell the reason so that I may start the actual migration safely. Thanks, prem

In the root of the directory you restored should be a restore_symboltable.
This file tracks state so that if you choose to do an incremental NDMPcopy, you will track renamed and deleted files. That is, it allows restore to make the source and destination look exactly the same after the final incremental operation. Except for the restore_symboltable file itself.
You can delete it once you're convinced that you will not be running any more incremental NDMPcopies to that destination.
