hi,
i am not quite sure what you mean with "on MAC Os X". if u want to access a cifs share on the filer via your network you have to add a share on the filer using "cifs shares -add ....". u can do this on the filer console or via telnet or rsh access from another networked machine.
regards

Hi ,
I want to create share on MAC Os X. How should I achieve it? Please tell me some commands or functions. What should I do if I want to use your toaster > cifs shares -add ?
Regards Nandkumar

And, to use it on the Mac, go to the Finder, pull down the "Go" menu, select "connect to server" and fill in the right information.
The Mac should be able to talk either NFS or CIFS.

I find it easier to use cifs with my mac due to UID issues, with nfs you have to somehow map your mac UID to your unix UID (or have open perms) and using CIFS is just simpler in my expirience.
10.3 is also much nicer than 10.2 for CIFS and NFS, it handles disconnects much better.
