Thanks to everyone who responded to my question regarding switching CIFS from Unix authentication to Windows authentication.
The consensus is that in our University environment many folks will have no choice but to enter "eservices" ahead of their user name. That is acceptable to us. We were just double checking to see if there was a simple filer config that we weren't aware of.
This is actually a much smaller issue than passwords. We don't know what the Unix passwords are so we cannot give each eservices account the corresponding Unix password. Folks will just need to set their eservices password by hand.
