I think this is the sort of proglet that could usefully live on the filer itself employing the java VM that's lurking under the hood somewhere which everyone's not talking about at the moment.

I just fixed a minor bug in na_snapmon (it would try to delete dump snapshots all of the time instead of just the ones that were more than two days old). The copy that I put up on my NetApp web page doesn't have that problem:

That could actually cause some problems for older releases (before 4.3x) affected by bug #650 that would crash the filer if you tried deleting a snapshot that's in use.
Now, na_snapmon makes the assumption that dumps older than two days are safe to delete, or at least you're running 4.3 or later.
