Is this telling me that the HBA in the filer ('toaster-a') aborted the SCSI command? Or that the port on the back-end storage (a 3Par T800) aborted the command?
Mon Jan 30 22:27:45 GMT [toaster-a: isp2400_intrd: *scsi.cmd.abortedByHost:err*]: Disk device 0a.0L2: Command aborted by host adapter: HA status 0x4: cdb 0x28:4d4dfc37:0009

and the answer would be: only initiators abort SCSI commands, so the message indicates that the toaster is doing the abort.
