Our backup team tried to use the legato client on the netapp server and it just kept hanging the back up server(AIX), they contacted Legato for help, and shortly after gave up. We mount on a Solaris box client and back up from there to the AIX box.

We've had good luck with ours. We backup a 740 from a Solaris box running 6.x and do it via NFS over gigabit Ethernet to a P1000 with a few DLT7000's.
