I've registered "toasters-list.org" tell me who to transfer ownership to and we can just setup dns to point to the existing server.
• thank you to whomever is now hosting, I haven't been paying much attention to the discussion because of other things, but it's appreciated. • I'm happy to pay the first year, but if someone @ netapp could make sure that this gets paid for going forward, that would be appreciated. I don't want to transfer someone a domain name that comes with monitory obligation.
Lastly, to everyone who's been freaking out and flooding this list; going forward, please just consider solving the problems instead of complaining about them.

I’d pay for it – no problem, .org is just 6€/year.
But I think we came tot he conclusion that we will leave everything as it is, or no?

The list isn't sponsored by NetApp, so I wouldn't expect that they'd pay for any domain registration. But ultimately, the decision about the domain name needs to be made by the list-owner, and I don't think lack of money to register a domain name is the problem... if he wanted to register a different domain name for the mailing list, he probably would have already done so, likewise, if he needed financial or technical assistance to choose an alternate domain for the list, he probably would have asked for it.
Since it seems pretty clear that the list-owner (who has been kind enough to take on the work of maintaining the list going forward) would like to keep the existing name, I think it's best to not worry about what some people might choose to infer from the domain name, and leave it at that.

My reading of it was, and I'll admit I only skimmed due to the number of messages, that he didn't want to move it anywhere else, and happened to own the domain. If he doesn't want to do that, no worries, I'm only out $10, so no big deal. I know it's not a netapp sponsored list, but I just figured someone over there wouldn't mind paying for it; if not, I certainly don't mind it auto-renewing on my account, but I figured to make things easy I should transfer it to the listserv owner, and I don't want to do that along with any financial obligation, even if it's minor.
