Dear all,
quick question, is there any way to turn off the caching (other than putting a global url stoplist), and just allowing the netapp box to be a dedicated proxy, rather than a caching proxy?
swift responses appreciated,
many thanks,
kelvin tooth
I've been configuring and exploring the NetCache appliance product (3.3.1) today. It's looks interesting, but there's one little behavior I can't fix. When I log into the web interface (using IE 4.0 and NT 4.0), there is a 1-2 minute delay before I get the message "cannot open the Internet site http://netcache.webtv.net:3128/cache_manager; Operation timed out." However, then I'm logged in successfully and can configure things; I won't get any more time out messages until I reopen IE and log in again.
Anyone have any ideas about it?
Thanks,
ejt

This *might* be bug 11340 "Access to the NetCache Manager Slow with Internet Explorer"; from a quick look at the bug and fix, *if* there's a way to configure IE not to use persistent connections, that *might* be a workaround. 11340 should be fixed in the next release.
Anawat, does that sound like 11340?
Bug 11340 is fixed in 3.3.1P1.
