Has anyone had experience with Hitachi's SAN devices? What I have always heard is that their products are good but their support is terrible. Any experiences with these units and/or support? Their Midrange (Thunder) kit isn't that all that good IMHO...sure it's fast and reliable but the upgrade path is murky and seems to change every 12 months.
Their Highend (Lightning) gear is excellent, although if your looking at virutalization technology I prefer IBM's offerings vs. Hitachi.
Options for midrange systems:
Ben Already mentioned the new Sun Midrange boxes, these are rebranded StorageTek boxes and should be pretty solid, with feature parity similar to the LSI Logic/IBM midrange units. Oh, and Netapp makes a decent FC SAN now:)
