I have a problem that is starting to concern me. About two weeks ago I noticed that a spare disk was no longer visible from the F760 cluster partner, but I never received a shelf/disk mismatch error. I didn't give it much thought at the time, until a disk failed the other day and the data was reconstructed on that disk. The partner also reports that the disk is broken on the front LCD. I can see the disk from the cluster partner with a `sysconfig -v` and `fcstat device_map`, but `sysconfig -r` does not show and `sysconfig -a` shows the disk as being unloaded (i.e. no serial number).
partner: 21: SEAGATE ST118202FC NA27 17.0GB 512B/sect (Unloaded)
primary: 21: SEAGATE ST118202FC NA27 17.0GB 512B/sect (LKD2465300002950H2WY)
NOW says that the disk is unseated, but I've checked and everything is tight and seated properly. I have even tried moving the disk to the partner, and now the problem is reversed: the partner can see the disk (in its primary loop), but the primary can not. I removed the entry in the primary's .broken_disk file, just in case that was causing a problem.
Is this a bad disk, or is it more likely a problem with the loop? Any ideas or suggestions?
