I have successfully used Cisco cables in the past with filers and indeed currently I use a Cisco cable with 270s so it should work.

We have done the reverse -- e.g. use the FAS250/270/3050/etc. RJ45:DB9 console cable on Cisco gear with RJ45 serial console, and it worked fine.

So I assume it would work in the other direction too.

I use a Cisco-Adapter on a Cyclades Serial-Console-Server, which works fine. The blue Cisco-cable works fine, too!
