If NIC's like the X1037's and X1047's are OEM'd from some company like Intel, can I just go out and buy the Intel version and it will work? I've got some older filers I need to move off of fibre onto copper and was hoping I could just purchase the manufacturer's version and save some money.
Thanks,

They might work. They will definitely not be supported and will cause headaches when dealing with support.
