Upon initialising disks my NetApp displays the following:
NVRAM test failed! NVRAM offset 0x300040, wrote 0xfe7e8201, got 0x457e8201 Program terminated ok
Is my NVRAM defective?

Could be. Run standalone diagnostics. I had trouble with my spare parts filer and found that I needed to carefully reseat the NVRAM and then all the problems disappeared. I hope you shutdown cleanly, otherwise you may have scrambled eggs. My spare parts filer lost all its disk information and I had to reload it. Lost everything.
You might want to contact NetApp.
