Try slipping native ssh support on a filer past export controls - we'd be very unhappy in the UK to find our company prevented from trading for breaking the arms embargo along with our suppliers.
Now, allowing us to do something well defined, perhaps with the Java VM, for *ourselves* along the lines of adding a secure control protocol to our filers...now *that* would be a fine thing.

Netapp could put up a "domestic build" and an "international build" on now.netapp.com, and post up the usual disclaimers and domain name checks, etc. to satisfy export restrictions. I'd love to ssh into a Netapp and ditch rsh/telnet.

I have been told unofficially that ssh is coming. Mind you that I would still treat this as a rumor even though it came from what I feel is a solid source. I was told at the same time that NTP was on the way too, but unfortunately I have seen indication of neither, yet....
