Another vote for NTP support. It doesn't need to be full-fledged -- client-only is fine. The rsh/rdate thing is a kludge.

How about broadcast/multicast client only?? There are some reasonable SNTP implementations around now as well - should be rather lighter to build than full NTP.

i hate to sound like an aol-er, but: me too. every box i have - even the NT (hack, spit) ones is kept in sync with NTP, except my toasters. it's not just for breakfast any more.

NTP would be great.
Now, a few years ago NetApp did a presentation at LISA (Chicago) in which they laid out the road map for some things to come. Among them, I thought that NTP was in the list. I have just kept quietly waiting.
