Hi all
I don't know if there's somebody that can help me. I need NTP for a customer both in the NAS NetApp edition and for some iSCSI/FC LUNs mounted using Snapdrive on Windows.
One of my account manager told me that NTP licensing model offers one kind of license for DAS/RAID on Windows host and another one for SAN tiered on TB basis (up to 2, 5 or unlimited).
The 2 TB SAN versione costs a lot of money more respect the DAS/RAID one and I don't understand the difference between having a 2 TB DAS disk quoted/screened by NTP and a iSCSI LUN of same size!!!
I've tried the DAS/RAID version on a Windows host with iSCSI LUNs and it works on them fine. Where's the difference? Only commercials?
regards
I assume you are talking about the quota software and not network time protocol.
The Netapp version probably interfaces with wafl api to allow greater control across the netapp regardless of how many hosts? Don't hold me to this, but that is a vague recollection that I have.
