Is there a way to let filer lookup user info in /etc/passwd first and then in NIS passwd map. To emulate this Solaris behavior
# cat /etc/nsswitch.con ... passwd: files nis ... I have a feeling that as soon as you say nis.enable=1 it just stops using /etc/passwd...

you can set that from filerview, so it must be setable as an option somewhere.

The filer has an /etc/nsswitch.conf file for that reason.
