The filer reads all disk labels at boot time. No matter what loops the disks are on, the filer will find them and associate them to the appropriate volume.
For maximum performance, you could distribute half of your volume disks on one loop and the other half on the second loop.

Instead of having 8 shelves on more fiber channel and 1 on the 2nd FC it seems logical that I should distribute the disks shelves over the two fiber channels. Question is if I move a disk shelf from one fiber loop to another will the OS find all the volumes on boot. Or is there something I must do configuration wise.
