As to performance; the software is pretty good. Benchmarks that HP performed show that NetCache-HPUX runs about 8X faster than Squid on FreeBsd.
Wow...that tells us alot(NOT)...How about NetCache vs Squid on the SAME box/os.

Good point, and I had to be purposely vague because I don't have all of the data. Fortunately, there's the new web polygraph benchmark that has been accepted by most vendors as the best existing cache benchmark.
The 8:1 performance advantage was reported to me verbally. When I hear our exact details, I'll post them to this list.

That would be nice to see... I'm sure you could get HP hardware that was 8x bigger/faster than anything FreeBSD can boot on, so the comparison isn't very meaningful. ;-)
