Hello - From my previous post (thanks for the answers..It should help), it was sugested that I upgrade my 720 to a later version of ontap (currently 5.2.1) I was going to try the 5.3.4.R3, but the minumus firmware revision for the fibre channel disk is FB59 (for ST1917FC disks, I am at FB55).
I am unable to find the location of the fibre channel firmware on the NOW site. Any pointers?
Thanks -Mathew

The firmware upgrades are part of the ONTAP upgrade, residing in /etc/disk_fw after installation. Having un-tar'd into place on the filer, you should be able to update the firmware in the disks using the disk_fw_update command (q.v.) even before "download"ing and rebooting to 5.3.4R3.
I've heard some advice that for fibre channel disks one shouldn't use disk_fw_update while the system is running, but I've done just that on an F740 with ST118202FC discs with only a temporary glitch in NFS service. The discs are spun down and up again as part of the firmware update.
