Thanks for all the help. I figured out my problem -- I had over committed an aggregate when I was setting up my snapmirror dest volumes under DOT 7.2.4. Under 7.2.4 size guarantee was disabled for snapmirror dest volumes. The free space for the aggregate reported by "df -A" was exaggerated, so I mistakenly put too many dest volumes in the aggregate.
When I added up the sizes of the volumes they exceeded the size of the aggregate and 7.3 complained about this. I moved one dest volume to a different aggregate and that fixed the problem.
I also set the volume option "guarantee" to "volume" on the destination volumes since the upgrade left it in the state "volume(disabled)".
