The only virus software that would come into play with this is the trend for filers on the R200 because all the data that we backup is on the R200, I'm wondering if its because of the AV on the netapp that is slowing this down? Its either that or not having a unix/liniux agent installed on the R200
Thanks

Make sure your NIC is set to full duplex as well as any switches, bridges, etc.
Check on any virus software and make sure it is not running during backups.

Hi
We are noting it takes quite a long time to backup my R200 (version NetApp Release 6.5) our backup exec server keeps complaining about an agent not being installed. I have found this article from Veritas http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/240654.htm http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/240654.htm and was wondering if installing this unix agent would help speed up my backup jobs? Or if anyone has any ideas for me on how to speed these jobs up that would be great
