You need to define a port on each switch as a trunk, span the VLAN(s) configured on each switch to be carried on the trunk(s) and then connect the two trunk ports via a cross over cable. This would be the same as trying to connect 2 hubs via a cross over cable (where a hub is only a single broadcast domain == a VLAN).

Link aggregation typically does not span seperate switches *even* if those switches are dot1q trunked together. They typically have to share the same backplane (like the cisco 3750s.)
