I've been using BudTool Version 4.5 from Intelliguard to back up my F520 and I have no complaints about it at all. It is very straightforward to set up and administer, it is fast and safe(using the snapshot mechanism) and the support from Intelliguard (in the UK at any rate) has so far been first-class. I used Veritas in previous roles and would not consider using it again. Its got some serious design flaws and the support in the UK is almost non-existent.

NDMP restores are always "in place" restores and will overwrite existing files. This is documented in a Caution box in the NDMP book that came with the netbackup software.
