Check settings in your /etc/usermap.cfg on the filer. This file handles mapping between PC and Unix usernames.
You probably find there a line like:
Administrator == root

Does anyone know why if you are a domain admin and you write a file via cifs, the file gets saved as owner root. Is there a way to fix this ???
