Doing some reading on the A-SIS feature.
Will this only De-Dupe WITHIN a flexvol, or leverage 4kb block commonalities within an aggregate? I would think the savings would be dramatic across flexvols, especially in Boot-SAN environments.

It is within a FlexVol.
In a boot-san environment, you would probably use FlexClone to save the blocks. That's one of the major advantages of FlexClones, they share common blocks (and do so for much less resource cost, IMHO). The products solve different types of duplication challenges.
