Hello-
I have a 2240-2 and I am attempting to upgrade to SP firmware to version 2.2.2P2. I keep getting 'ERROR: Metadata absent in new package' when attempting to install the firmware.
The filer I am testing on is running version 2.1, and I was able to upgrade it to version 2.1.3 without error. However, attempting to upgrade to 2.2, 2.2.1 or 2.2.2P2 are failing

As far as I can tell, everything looks good in the firmware tarball

Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks

What ONTAP version are you running? IIRC 2.2 only works if you have 8.2, which I ran into a while ago (still on 8.1.3 here). Yep, http://mysupport.netapp.com/NOW/download/tools/serviceimage/support/ confirms it.
Hi James-
Someone else emailed me directly and informed me of this as well. It looks like 2.1.3 is the latest firmware for 2240s running 8.1. I was able to successfully upgrade all my filers to that version.
Thanks

Title Service Processor Can Trigger Watchdog Reset After 500+ Days of Uptime
Summary The Service Processor (SP) contains a memory resource leak affecting the IPMI software, eventually causing the SP to become unresponsive and possibly triggering a watchdog reset of Data ONTAP®. In order to trigger this reset, the SP must be running for approximately five hundred (500) days or longer.
