Jack,
There's always www.spec.org for some official numbers, see here:

Anyone out there running a FAS6070 or FAS6030 hard? I have been trying to find real world NFS OPS numbers on this head and cant seem to. I know all OPS are not created equal but a peak OPS and what type of traffic you are pushing at it would be a great help.
Thanks
Jack

Jack,
One of the neat things about all those autosupport emails that get kicked off is that Netapp has a very large database of cool info at their fingertips. They can run reports for you, looking at (anonymous) customer data similar to yours and giving you pretty neat projections. You¹ve got to ask though, and sometimes they¹ll grumble, but generally they¹ll send one out right quick. You could do an ad-hock sample here, but I think you¹d probably be much better served by getting a report.

Easily 50-60k ops/s out of a 6070 head (SPEC rated for 68k), but CIFS traffic then sucks down our ops numbers. Not all that impressive (*our* traffic load).
We once got 9x,000 ops/s out of a 980 head (SPEC rated at 34,000)... It all depends on the traffic load.
Until next time...
