So, obviously, the big question is where do i find a list of all the "ninja commands"?
One thing I've always wanted in Filers was the ability to maintain a filer without having to mount the filesystem (root) from an adminstation. Is there a "cd" or "ls" command for admins? Even with rdfile you have to know where the files are. A much more advanced shell on the Filers would be very very nice. And from what I'm hearing, maybe it exsists but you need to "void_warrenty_on" ?

The funny thing is that rdfile is as tame as it gets from a command standpoint, and does not require priv set advance (rc_toggle_basic). I also wonder how many Netapp owners do not know about the "hidden" commands? So, if the intention is to keep us from messing up by using such, maybe they should have used a more complex "secret handshake".

Is that what you are looking for? C-

You have to take the 201 (Advanced Sys Admin) class to learn of the ninja commands. Some are very dangerous.
I don't know of a cd or ls type command. I have had the same desires for more commands but am able to function in a crisis with rdfile and wrfile. The big gotcha with wrfile is that as soon as you start it you remove what was in the old file so if you wrfile the rc (for instance) you need to have run rdfile first so you can retype everything. The ninja commands are powerful and dangerous if you aren't quite sure what they do. If it is something I am not sure of I call tech support and have them hold my hand.
I strongly suggest getting support help if you are using commands that you are unsure of.
May the force be with you. ;) C-
