In what way are snapshots "not working properly"? Not being taken when you expected them to be? Contents of the snapshots not accessible? Give us _something_ to go on.

It doesn't require any disk space to take a snapshot (well, to a good first approximation, anyway). Retaining too many snapshots might cause your volumes to become full.
